The Loneliest Road in America! Highway 50 in Nevada

The fact I Eureka was having an old car cruise in!I had wanted to drive along this road for many years now! We had gotten close but never this close! I was so excited and because of the snow it might not have happened but it did! The traffic, wait there is no traffic! We did follow one car for the longest time, but for the most part, hardly anyone comes or goes this was! There are very few towns and really very little services!
Eureka was having an old car cruise in!
A very beautiful drive! Highly recommend it!!

Great Basin National Park

I don't have much to share about this park! The area was a winter wonderland so all the clouds hung over Mt Wheeler, the star of Great Basin National Park. They also have Astronomy shows some nights because the air is so clean and clear that one can see stars so very readily. But this morning not so much!
The cafe for a hot gog and sun chips!
Walking trails in the back of the Visitor Center
The Visitor Center
Gift shop and cafe
Then we left!

Beaver, Utah The Surprise!!!

I'm at We woke up this morning and boy did we get a surprise! At 6:36am, Bud got out of bed and went to the window to check out the weather, like he does every morning. He said look at this, snow! Of course I thought he was kidding,?and I said no way! I got out of bed and walked over to the window and looked out and there was snow!!!
So Bud got dressed and went out to the car and cleaned it off. I got ready and we went down for breakfast and to look at a map and figure out which way to get to Oregon. I had listened to the weather on a Utah station and looked on weather.com and on the road I wanted to take, which was Highway 50 The Loneliest Road In America through Nevada. It was just suppose to rain. Bud talked with the Hotel clerk and she looked it up and she told him it was just suppose to rain and we talked with a couple to travelers in the breakfast room and they were trying to figure out where to go to. Bud and I thought we would try Hey 50 and if it was snowy we could turn around. So with Bud at the wheel we took off.
And pretty soon after driving maybe 10 or 15 minutes, snow was only on the very highest peaks and it was 42 degrees!!!

Utah Beautiful Utah!

We continued on I70west from Colorado into Utsh! The scenery was incredible! I would suggest this trip to anyone, include this in planning a road trip!
We came into a thunderstorm with hail!
We were scared! Lightening and thunder very close! Couldn't see real well with the hail coming down!
But soon the storm went east and we went west!
And then the pictures had to stop or we wouldn't have made it to the Comfort Inn in Beaver, Utah!! I was driving 80 miles an hour and I can't take pictures while I am driving and I didn't have time to pull over for all the prettiness!!!
