Charlotte North Carolina

Our nephew, Mikey and his wife Devan moved to Charlotte, NC about 8 months ago! Of course we had to stop by and see them! They are doing awesome! We went into Uptown Charlotte to eat North Carolina BBQ and it was delicious! Sorry I was so hungry I forgot to take pictures except for the dessert of Lemon Chess Pie!

U.S. National Whitewater Center

Charlotte has a most interesting water park, it is called US National Whitwster Center! For those who love to ride in rubber rafts down fast and tumbling Rapids which have drops in them, this place is for you! They also have Mountain Bikes trails, Rock wall to climb, kayaking either in a lake setting or join the rafts in the Rapids! People and dogs can hike the trails and there are zip lines and canopy walking! The place is incredible! We ate lunch at the restaurant and you can sit outside under an umbrella and watch all the action! There is a Biergarten also and they have grassy areas all over so people can sit in the warm sunshine to dry off, eat or just sit, or lie down, and just relax and watch! Mikey took us on a hike (walk)!and we went down by the river where people can use paddle boards and kayaks and paddle around up river or down river. So very beautiful walking through the shade of trees and feeling the breeze right off the river! We even crossed a rope bridge which you had to put your feet where there was a knot, hold on to the rope and take one step at a time over a little creek! Mikey tricked me into crossing it but I am glad he did! I still got it, whatever it is!

Charlotte At Night

Mikey and Devan, our nephew and his beautiful wife, drove us into Charlotte NC late afternoon and we had NC Bbq! It was delicious! We were all starved so we ate up!!  It is a dry BBQ so it wasn't all messy and the taste went down to the bone! It was so pleasant chatting with them and seeing them in their new place to call home! Charlotte is small but beautiful with pockets being revitalized and made into cute little cozy corners with little restaurants and pubs and bars! Even a dog bar! Yes you can take your dog in and have a drink! If the dog poops, the owner has to pick it up!

These last two pictures were taken last night. Devan had to work late so we thought we would go uptown, not downtown here in Charlotte, to get a pizza! No problem, it is 7:30, we can be back by nine! Not! Mikey ordered a large King Arthur and half Hawaiian, they made the whole thing like a King Arthur, so they made a while Hawaiian for free!! Plus gave me a free ice tea:) the pizza crust was perfect!! Great pizza!! Then we went to bed!!!! Too late for smores by the fire!! Next time...

This is the view we woke up to! No wind and no rain and no gray clouds! Sunshine! Big and beautiful and not cold! So we got dressed and went down onto the beach! It was warm and the sand was warm! It was so beautiful, I didn't think I could leave.
