Historic St Charles, Missouri

A gazebo by the Missouri After dinner in St Louis, we drove about 40 minutes northwest to St Charles. It is on the Missouri River and it is an old port town! Mark Twain spent some time here! Pictures are worth a thousand words so here you go! I am sorry to say there were no shops open save one and it was a candy store and yes I bought some milk chocolate vanilla creams (8) they didn't have maple! The store was called Kilwins and that is the same name of store I bought my creams in Annapolis! We had fun though walking through the town trying to pretend it was 1855 or so and picturing Mark Twain in one of the old bars getting stories for his next book!
