Jamestown Settlement Virginia

Jamestown was America’s first permanent English colony. It was founded in 1607, 13 years before the pilgrims landed at Plymouth Massachusetts. The colony was sponsored by the Virginia Company of London, a group of investors who hoped to profit from the venture. It wasn’t easy and I am sure I would have stayed in England!
