Turquoise Trail So Pretty!

So we are on our way to Taos today. We left Acoma Pueblo and headed east towards Albuquerque. We don't stop there but continue on I25 to Hughway 14 called The Turquoise Trail. The highway heads up into the mountains and has old towns along the way!

The first town was Sandia Crest and we went into a Thrift store. I found a brown pair of capris for $2.00! Then the next town named Golden had a historic Hendersons Trading Post! Oh and I should mention that the wind is blowing about 40 miles an hour which is kicking up dust and we have to open our car doors one at a time :) But it isn't raining!

We stopped in Madrid and had lunch on the deck of The Mining Shaft And shared a quesadilla! It was kind of a dive and the clientele loved to talk about personal items very loudly!
We also saw "Maggie's Diner" which was built for the movie "Wild Hogs" also in Madrid, NM!

These are some pictures of Madrid, NM
Highway 14 was very fun, very pretty and only 67 miles long!
