Roswell, New Mexico!!!!

In July 1947, something happened northwest of Roswell, New Mexico, during a severe thunderstorm, as we are having right now outside our hotel door, but more about that later!  Was it a flying saucer? Was it a weather balloon? What happened? The story goes that in mid 1947, a crash of a military Air Force surveillance balloon at a ranch near Roswell, NM gave rise to claims alleging the crash was of an extraterrestrial spaceship. After an initial spike of interest, the military reported that the crash was merely of a conventional weather balloon. Interest waned until the late 1970's when ufologists began bringing up a variety of conspiracy theories claiming that one or more alien spacecraft had crash landed and that extraterrestrial occupants had been recovered by the military who then engaged in a coverup! It is a fun museum to visit! 

Every baby boomer should remember this movie? Right?

Again our stay was short but I saw all the things on my bucket list for Riswell, New Mexico! We have to drive another 100 miles to Hobbs New Mexico so we will be within 2 hours drive from Abilene Texas!! We have some pretty awesome people to visit!!!
