The We drive up north from Jackson, Tennessee to this area called "The Land Between The Lakes". Two dams were built, the Kentcky, which caused the Tennessee River to turn into a lake on the west and the Barkley Dam turned the Cumberland River to Lake Barkley! So we were on a trace through the countryside between the two lakes. I tried to map it on my iPhone but the area would not come up on my maps so we did it the old fashioned way, paper maps and by asking for directions!!! It was very pretty and we saw some wildlife. There is a pastureland with bison and elk and we drive through it for $5.00. We saw bison bulls and some elk.
We saw a box turtle and it was crossing the road so I turned around and Bud took it from the street and put it near a creek
We stopped at a visitor center, there were three of them
Then we saw Lake Kentucky
Then we drove up to Elizabthtown, KY to spend the night! We crossed the Wastern Time Zone so we lost another hour :(
