We flew from Belfast, Northern Ireland to Glasgow, Scotland and it only took 45 minutes to get there! It took us 3 hours to get our car at the airport! We sat in Starbucks and waited to see if we could a small car! When we first fot to the Hertz desk at 2:45pm, she said we were getting a Mercedes because that was the only automatic they had so that was fine. We signed the papers and off we went. It was too big, yes it was an mid size car but Bud is driving on the left hand side on small roads and it is uncomfortable to be in a big car. So they finally said that a Volvo came in so Bud went to take a look at it. It was a might smaller, just seems wide. We took it with any chance we get we will trade it for a smaller car. I have emailed the Edinburgh Airport Hertz office and asked if they have a small auto we can trade. Waiting for an answer back tomorrow!
But anyway we were able to get up 25 miles to our bed and breakfast in a small town Arrochar. It is on Loch Long and it is very pretty here. This is a picture of the B&B.
It was very nice. We had the upstairs room on the right and we saw this out our window!
This is what our breakfast looked like, a full Scottish Breakfast! Starting at midnight, the brown is Haggis, tastes like salty liver pate, the black is blood pudding, then at 3 pm is Canadian Bacon, 4 pm is Potato scone, 7pm is sausage, 9pm scrambled egg and center is baked tomato!
We went to dinner next door at the Village Inn.
Bud and I split a bacon cheeseburger and a baked potato with cheese and beans!
They had a beautiful Christmas Tree!
All in all it was a very pleasant evening! Bud did have to drive in the dark and that is so very hard! But after a few turning mistakes we found the B&B and then had dinner, then retired to our room for some TV (only 4 channels) and chill time! Although writing a blog takes up a lot of time. I have to download or load pictures then find which ones I want to use then right something! Yikes! But I enjoy sharing with you that are looking and reading! Hope you all have a very blessed December getting ready for Christmas!
I love keeping up with you on the trip, so thanks for blogging! Days off from blogging are absolutely wonderful, though, so don't forget to give yourself breaks to just enjoy!! We'll still be here! Love you!
ReplyDeleteSame here, though it makes me insane with jealousy! :) Misty has a good point though, you should definitely give yourself good breaks. I'll miss your post, but somehow I know I shall make it through. When we have Sasha this weekend, I'm going to show her your posts, especially the ones when you were visiting your granddaughters! Hope you and Bud keep having a blast!
