Egypt-Cairo-The Citadel/Mohamed Ali Mosque

Before we get to the entrance to the Citadel, you can see the dramatic minarets pierce the skyline of Cairo. It is visible from all over Cairo. It was built in the memory of Mohamed Ali's oldest son who died in 1816. The Mosque was built between 1830 and 1848. It is very beautiful and the views from the top are gorgeous!
