Egypt-Giza Pyramids
What was so amazing was seeing the Pyramids for the first time. Of course when they were built, they were not close to the city at all. They were out of town so to speak. Well not anymore the city buildings go right out to the Pyramids. Just look at the Pyramids, don't look behind you to see the city. I did that in Chicago, Illinois. I was standing on a sandy beach looking at
Lake Michigan. I could hear the traffic and when I turned around the city skyscrapers were not 50 feet from me!
But the Pyramids are awesome no matter what, and we were in awe seeing them for the very first time from a distance. We stopped at the hotel first and checked in and I crossed my fingers and prayed (guiltily) for a vies of the Pyramids from my room! Happy Dance Happy Dance, we had one from our balcony just outside our room. We could sit there and look down at the two pools and looking up were the Pyramids!!!!! Travis and Carleigh had the room next to ours and they could see the Pyramids also. And this time we had time for the pool so down we went and jumped in, well I walked into the water a little at a time. There were two pools. The first one you could swim or walk and swim clear around the pool bar in the middle. In fact Travis came up with the idea to swim around the bar without touching, that was very difficult and the next day my arms were sore. But it was such fun and exercise. Our tour had reservations for the Sound and Light show at the Pyramids at 8:00pm. We all hopped on the bus, after changing our clothes, and drove over to the Pyramids. There was a wonderful breeze blowing, a beautiful sunset and then the Pyamids right before us. The Sphinx right there, I mean right there. The show was kind of cheesy, but the Sphinx told the history of the Pyramids and it was just nice sitting there, not running around, not hurrying but just sitting and feeling that breeze listening to history and ahhhhhhh, it was nice. Travis thought it cheesy and felt that he wished he could have visited the Pyramids before he saw the show. But later after all the sightseeing was done, he was ok with it. It just needs to be updated!

It's so crazy, how the pyramids are just off the streets like that. I remember looking at a satellite image of the pyramids and knew they bordered the city, but your photos capture it so much better.
